FIFA has announced the shortlist of the FIFA Ballon d'Or 2011 on 5 December 2011 in Paris.The nomineees for the award are Messi(Argentina),Ronaldo(Portugal) and Xavi (spain).
Votes are collected from the coaches (33%) and captains (33%) of national teams and from selected journalists (33%).
 The winner of the FIFA Ballon d’Or 2011 and FIFA Women’s World Player of the Year awards will be announced at the FIFA Ballon d’Or 2011 gala in Zurich on 9 January 2012.
